Fourth Of July Firecracker Cupcake Recipe

With many parades and firework shows being canceled due to the pandemic, this year 4th of July is poised to be slightly different than usual, but that doesn’t mean it has to be disappointing. If there is one thing that rivals 4th of July fireworks, then that’s 4th of July desserts that show off patriotic pride. Thanks to colorful icings, fruits, sprinkles, and more, festive sweets are some of the easiest (and yummiest) holiday foods to get the red, white, and blue treatment.
So here’s the recipe of classic Fire Cracker Cupcakes adapted from the original recipe on the Betty Crocker website

INGREDIENTS
Cupcakes:
2 cup Flour (Or Betty Crocker Cake Mix)
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup softened Butter
3/4 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 cup Milk
1 tsp Vanilla

Frosting:
1 cup softened Butter
3 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1-2 tbsp Milk
Red and Blue Gel Colouring
Twizzlers Peel and Pull Candies (Optional)

Equipments: Baking Oven, Muffin Cups, Piping Bag

METHOD:
Preheat oven to 375.
Line muffin pan with liners.
Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs and vanilla
Add in flour mixture and milk gradually alternating between them.
Fill each liner 2/3 full and bake for 18 minutes of until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Allow to cool.
Whip butter, vanilla and gradually add powdered sugar.
Add milk until you reach desired consistency.
Prepare a piping bag and fold the bag down over each cupcake.
Sprinkle with red, white and blue sprinkles.

If you wish to spice up the weekend a little more then turn it into a movie night. Stream “Independence Day,” “The Patriot,” or “Top Gun” and while you get your fill of virtual fireworks, bite into these red, white, and blue deliciousness to share a little American Pride.
