Food memory that best captures the festival of colors

As we prepare to embrace Holi’s vibrant essence, we can’t help but wonder what food memory best captures the colours of the festival. The polychromatic French Macarons or Greek Salad, the peachy orange American Pumpkin Pie or the Japanese salmon sushi, the fiery red hues of a Russian Borscht or Kashmiri Dum Olav, the emerald tones of freshly made Italian Pesto or Mexican Guacamole?

While we’ll leave the rest to your imagination, our Guest Columnist Sonal Dhar Sonalstraveldiaries makes her plate the canvas and food on it the paint to capture these fantastically colourful dishes from Chinatown.

“On an average, I travel to China for work at least twice a year, and am always overwhelmed by the hospitality of my business associates who are more friends, in fact almost family now.
Chinese culture is extremely food oriented. Their way of showing respect to guests is to have many different dishes on a big round table with a rotating top.
Swipe to see the many dishes, including a chicken hotpot, the famous Peking Duck, Phense (thin transparent bean noodles) with Shrimp, etc. ALL of these were served at one single dinner in honor of some important clients during my last trip there. The last many weeks have been very upsetting, due to the situation in China. I dedicate this post to my Chinese friends.”
