Germany’s culinary landscape has reached new heights, now featuring an impressive 340 Michelin-starred restaurants. This achievement cements Germany’s reputation as a gastronomic paradise, offering Indian travelers a rich and varied culinary experience. ES:SENZ restaurant in the upper Bavarian town of Grassau, previously honored with Two MICHELIN Stars, has now ascended to the pinnacle of international gastronomy by earning Three MICHELIN Stars in 2024. The Two MICHELIN Star list, with a total of 50 restaurants, has maintained its impressive status compared to the previous year. The 2024 selection includes three new additions: KOMU in Munich, PUR in Berchtesgaden, and SEO Küchenhandwerk in Langenargen. Among the 280 One Star restaurants in the 2024 MICHELIN Guide, there are 32 new additions. Notable examples include Restaurant Residenz Heinz Winkler in Aschau im Chiemgau, Le Moissonnier Bistro in Cologne, and Tipken’s by Nils Henkel at the Severin’s Resort & Spa Hotel in Keitum on the island of Sylt.

For Indian travelers, food is a major draw, and alongside their native cuisine, there is a strong appreciation for authentic German and international flavors. Germany’s diverse culinary offerings meet this demand, highlighting traditional dishes, contemporary interpretations, and creative fusion.

Additionally, 199 restaurants in Germany have earned a Bib Gourmand, an accolade given for exceptional dishes that offer great value for money. Furthermore, 77 establishments have been awarded a Green Star for their dedication to sustainability. Introduced in 2020, the MICHELIN Green Star recognizes restaurants that prioritize resource conservation, use seasonal and local ingredients, and source meat from animals raised in natural environments.
