What are NYC’s chances of getting a white Christmas?
According to the National Weather Service there are rainfall predictions for Friday, 23 Dec with snow showers with thunder. The NWS is expecting coastal flooding during Friday morning’s high tide for South Queens, specifically in Jamaica Bay, Rockaway Inlet and East Rockaway. All of the crummy weather is a result of a major winter storm moving into the area.
For those hoping for a white Christmas, we’re sorry to burst your bubble: Both Saturday and Sunday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, will be sunny and clear. But definitely bundle up—there will be a high near 24 and low at about 16 on Saturday and a high of about 26 on Sunday with a low of just 18.
COVID advisory returns: Use masks in crowded spaces, random test for international travellers in India
As China sees a huge spike in COVID cases, international travellers arriving from the country and other nations will now be subjected to random sample testing for Coronavirus at airports. This move comes in view of the recent surge in COVID cases in some parts of the world and after reviewing the current COVID-19 situation in India.
As per the latest news reports, three cases of Omicron subvariant BF.7, apparently the strain that is responsible for driving China’s current surge of COVID cases, have been detected in India so far. India got into action to review India’s COVID preparedness and advised people to mask up in crowded places to prevent the spread of the virus, amid fears that the wave of infections in China might spawn new mutations.
‘Air Suvidha’ for international travellers likely to be reintroduced due to surge in COVID cases in other countries
India is likely to reintroduce mandatory Air Suvidha forms that will have details of the RT-PCR test that has been conducted 72 hours prior to travel, or complete vaccination proof for those coming from China and other countries reporting high numbers of COVID cases.
If reports are to go by, a decision on this will soon be taken after checking the situation in the coming weeks. Reports have it that random sample testing for COVID will be conducted at airports for travellers arriving from China and other countries. Officials in the know-how added that the Health Ministry will likely reintroduce the mandatory Air Suvidha forms for international arrivals in view of the rising COVID cases in China and other countries.
