News at 9: The McBaguette from "Emily in Paris" is real, One of Rome's best restaurants is coming to the U.S. and more

Yes, You Really Can Grab a McBaguette Just Like ‘Emily in Paris’, One of Rome’s best restaurants is coming to the U.S., 10 U.S. restaurants made to the list of the World’s 50 Best Pizzerias and more in top stories of the day.

The McBaguette From “Emily in Paris” Is Real — and You Can Grab One Too!

First mentioned in the season 3 premiere of “Emily in Paris” , the sandwich is a real offering at over 1,200 McDonald’s restaurants in France, according to NBC. What started out as a limited-edition promotional item in 2012 has since become a staple, returning to the McDonald’s France menu annually for a limited time. In fact, the double-stacked sandwich is so beloved that the “Emily in Paris” writers decided to make it a key plot point in season three.

While some people would call the fast-food chain’s Big Mac or apple pie their favorite item on the menu, the McBaguette has become a modern-day French classic. The sandwich consists of two hamburger patties or two chicken tenders, swiss cheese, lettuce, and grainy french mustard on a crispy baguette from local suppliers. For a limited time, McDonald’s France is also offering a special meal in partnership with the release of Emily in Paris season three. It comes with french fries, two macarons, a medium-sized drink, and, you guessed it, the McBaguette. Bon Appétit!

One of Rome’s Best Restaurants Is Coming to the U.S.

One of Rome‘s most famous restaurants is slated to open its first restaurant outside of Italy — in New York City.

Eater reports, Roscioli will be opening on Macdougal Street after the restaurant Niche Niche closes in January of this year. Ariel Arce, of Niche Niche and Air’s Champagne Parlor, will partner with the famed Rome institution, which serves spectacular wines, pastas, salumeria, pizzas, and more across its three locations in the city’s Regola neighborhood.

According to Eater, the Roscioli in New York will have an alimentari element, with takeaway products, as well as a deli, restaurant, and wine bar on the first floor. The outlet reports that this space will incorporate the spirit of Niche Niche, which for four years gained a devoted following for its dinner party-style restaurants.
