You know of this fair as Pushkar Fair, Pushkar Camel Fair, Kartik Mela or Kartik ka Mela. This year, the fair is from November 1-9, and the festivities have begun. This year, the state tourism department has invited tourists from all over the world for the fair under the aegis of Pushkar Chalo Abhiyan.

A number of cultural events and competitions take place during the fair festivities. Fun competitions like tug of war between men and women, dance, matka phod, and longest moustache competition are some of the most interesting ones at the fair. Camel race is another competition one should not miss out on.

Delhi Airport ranked world’s 10th busiest airport

OAG, a company that performs aviation analytics, stated in its study that Delhi Airport has improved from its rank of 14th in October 2019, which was before the pandemic to now being the 10th busiest airport in the world.

As per its reports, the busiest airport in the world in October 2022 was Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which is followed by the airports in Dubai and Tokyo Haneda in second and third place respectively. Further, London Heathrow Airport has been ranked sixth, Chicago O’Hare International Airport is ranked seventh, and Los Angeles International Airport is ranked ninth, according to the OAG study.

In yet another news, the impact of climate change is seen on Antarctica’s emperor penguins, which have officially been declared a threatened species. Last week, the Endangered Species Act by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service declared these super cute flightless birds as threatened species.

The main aim of the listing is to save the emperor penguins from extinction. As per the agency, the climate change impact on the sea-ice habitat is the “primary threat” to the emperor penguins.
