It Wouldn’t Be August Without Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte.
What can be said about the Pumpkin Spice Latte that hasn’t already been written before? The segment-creating drink that not only launched an army of imitators and allowed pumpkin spice to infiltrate every facet of our lives, but also turned August into a seasonal product battleground, is returning for its 19th year in 2022. The much-heralded PSL will return to Starbucks locations on Tuesday, August 30.
However not even Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is immune to inflation. The fall favorite, which returns Tuesday, is getting more expensive with a grande-sized hot PSL costing customers between $5.45 to $5.95 depending on location — a roughly 4% increase compared to 2021. That’s in line with broader price hikes at Starbucks and other chains, which have all increased menu prices gradually over the past year because of inflationary pressures. The PSL, as it’s often referred to, has been a popular item on Starbucks’ menu for nearly two decades, eliciting excitement among its loyal fan base. Starbucks has sold more than 600 million PSLs since the drink’s introduction in 2003.
Topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices, PSL is available hot, iced or blended at U.S. stores throughout the season while supplies last. Also available for a limited time is the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, which returns to the menu for a fourth year. Crafted with Starbucks® Cold Brew sweetened with vanilla syrup, the fan-favorite fall sip is topped with pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice.
First introduced to the fall menu last year, the Apple Crisp Macchiato returns with a twist – now made with creamy oatmilk and Starbucks® Blonde Espresso as the standard recipe. Inspired by the flavors of the warm and gooey apple crisp paired with a cup of coffee, the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato combines layered flavors of apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar with a spiced apple drizzle. The Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato is available hot, iced and blended at U.S. Starbucks stores throughout the season while supplies last.
A bite of fall
Pumpkin is back in the bakery case with the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and Pumpkin Scone, both available for a limited time, as well as the customer-favorite Pumpkin Loaf, which is available year-round.
Customers can also enjoy the new Owl Cake Pop, which combines vanilla cake and buttercream, dipped in purple chocolaty icing and finished with an owl design. Available for a limited time while supplies last.
Festival fall merchandise
