Quentin Tarantino filmed the only Parisian scene (the one in which Daniel Brühl explains to Mélanie Laurent that he’s a war hero) from Inglourious Basterds at this real-life Parisian bistro, Bistrot La Renaissance. Serving traditional French fare since the 1930s, this timeless bistro has retained all of its authenticity. From the Art Deco lamp designed by Lemière to the beveled, spotted mirrors that we so love, everything has remained as it was in the 1930s. At first glance, you’ll quickly understand why this hidden gem attracts a good number of regulars: the traditional cuisine is in perfect keeping with the genuine refinement of the place. The menu is full of no-fuss but tasty dishes, all with that homemade touch from steaks and andouillettes (a coarse-grained sausage made with pork) to tartars (a dish made from raw ground meat). So next time you are in Paris, you know where to stopover for a quick bite of French fare!
