This stunning 1930s restaurant – ‘Bar de la Marine’ made famous by French author Pagnol who used to frequent it, is also known for being the set of a romantic wedding proposal between Jamie (Colin Firth) and Aurelia (Lucia Moniz) in the popular 2003 British rom-com “Love Actually”. This brasserie is popular with residents, who come here for their simple grilled seafood brochettes. While the walls are blanketed with murals and comfortable cafe chairs fill the place, but the main draw for visitors is the breathtaking view of the port and the fresh breeze in the outdoor seating area. The place is open all day long and gets buzzing at the weekends, when locals and guests gather for an evening rendezvous. If you happen to pay a visit, and if look for it, we’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that even 17 years after the movie’s release, love actually is still all around!
