It’s love at first sip with these fun and festive drinks.
Whether you’re planning a special date night or a cozy ‘Netflix and chill’ evening this Valentine’s Day, it’s always a good idea to add a fun cocktail into the mix. In honor of the most romantic day of the year, I’ve gathered up some of the tastiest Valentine’s Day cocktail recipes around for you to fall in love with this year. They’re romance in a glass.
1. Pomegranate Daiquiri
Ingredients:
60 ml Puerto Rican Don Q Rum (Or any light white rum)
22 ml pomegranate juice (freshly pressed will be ideal)
22 ml lime juice (freshly squeezed)
15 ml Sugar syrup (Ratio of Sugar: Water is 2:1)
Pomegranate seeds and lime wedges for garnish
Method:
In a blender, combine all the ingredients with ice cubes. Blend until slushy. Pour into a large martini or wine glasses; garnish as desired.
2. Green Apple and Kiwi Mojito
Ingredients:
6 tbsp white rum
4 slices of green apple
1 kiwi, peeled and cubed
6-8 mint leaves
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
Lime wedges for garnish
4 tbsp soda water
Ice cubes
Method
Divide the lime wedges, kiwi, apple, and sugar into two glasses.
Muddle for 30 seconds and add the mint leaves, muddle to the bruise, and release the aroma.
Fill the glasses halfway with crushed ice. Add the lime juice and white rum, stir with a bar spoon.
Top with soda water and serve immediately.
3. Green Mango Peach Martini
Ingredients:
60 ml Absolut Apeach Vodka
60 ml raw mango juice
15 ml fresh lime juice
Ice cubes
Peach slices, for garnish
Method:
In a cocktail shaker mix all the ingredients along with the ice. Shake well and pour into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with a peach slice
4. Blackberry Cashew Fizz
Ingredients:
30 ml Cashew feni (a unique brandy that is produced from cashew nuts and only produced in the state of Goa, India.)
90 ml Jamun Juice (Or Blackberry Juice)
10 ml lime juice
Fresh Jamuns (Or blackberries) for garnish
Ice cubes
Method:
In a cocktail shaker mix all the ingredients along with the ice. Shake well and pour into a chilled martini or mimosa glass.
Garnish with jamuns or blackberries
5. Cuba Libre
Ingredients:
60 ml dark rum
180 ml Coca-Cola
Garnish: lime wedge
Ice cubes
Method:
Fill a highball glass with ice, then add rum and Coca-Cola.
Garnish with a lime wedge. Squeeze the lime into your drink, if desired.
6. Manhattan
Ingredients:
60 ml bourbon or rye (or any other whiskey at home)
30 ml sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters (optional)
1 dash orange peel
Garnish: brandied cherry
Ice cubes
Method:
Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice, and stir until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with a brandied cherry
