At the heart of the celebration is the Chinese zodiac, a 12-year cycle where each year is symbolized by a different animal. The sequence includes Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. A person’s zodiac sign is based on their birth year, meaning that 2025 will be the Year of the Snake.
