The air-conditioned two-floor cruise ship is 45-feet-long and 15-feet-wide, and has been built in Gujarat. From Gujarat, it was brought to Delhi and then to Ayodhya.
Ayodhya will now offer a delightful cruise experience along the picturesque Saryu River. If reports are to go by, local authorities have already approved a private agency to operate the ‘Jatayu’ cruise service, providing a unique journey between Nayaghat and Guptarghat, starting from September 8. This initiative will not only boost tourism but will also offer locals and visitors a great way to explore the historic and scenic beauty of Ayodhya.
Passengers can look forward to a serene voyage that will also allow them to soak in the rich cultural heritage and natural splendor of this revered city. In short, it’s a great addition to Ayodhya’s offerings, ensuring both relaxation and cultural enrichment for all who come aboard.
The service will be formally flagged off recently. Prepared on the Ramayana theme, Jatayu has been painted in such a way that it will showcase popular episodes from the epic.
Referring to this, Ayodhya Municipal Commissioner Vishal Singh added that all precautions have been taken to ensure safety of passengers taking the cruise ride.
Rahul Sharma, managing director of the company that will be operating this service, added that INR 300 would be charged as fee for round trip between the two ghats. For your information, the Jatayu cruise boat is fully air-conditioned, and will have the capacity to accommodate 100 people, and will take the visitors on a tour of the city’s popular ghats and temples via the Saryu river.
Visitors will be elated to know that the ‘aarti’ of Saryu River would be covered during the ride, whereas the passengers will be given the option of meals and snacks during the guided tour.
While ‘Jatayu’ will be the first cruise service in Ayodhya, a premium cruise service, ‘Pushpak’, will commence later this year, and bigger than this. Pushpak will be able to accommodate around 150 passengers.
