Schengen visa: Germany relaxes visa appointment rules for Indian tourists
As per the authorities at the German Missions in India, Indian travellers can now book their visa appointment in any of the VFS global Visa Application Centres (in any major cities) in the country, as per one’s convenience.
The Schengen visa can be applied three months before the travel date. However, this relaxation is not applicable for the D-visa category (for example student, employment and family reunion visa among others). A Schengen visa will allow travellers to legally stay in any of the states in the Schengen area for up to 90 days of any 180-day period.

Come February 20, 2023, Ladakh will be hosting the Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon, lovingly called The Last Run, first of its kind in India. The name may sound grim but so is the issue of global warming and climate change. The marathon, organised by Adventure Sports Foundation of Ladakh, is an effort to bring awareness about the issue of climate change through sports.
The 21 km long marathon is first of its kind in India and the choice of venue is perfect for this. Registrations are already underway for this event.
The marathon will take place at an altitude of 13,862 ft, making it the first marathon in the world to ever take place at this altitude. That’s a chance for a Guinness World Record right there.
Thailand visa: Indians can obtain visas from consulate or embassy to avoid long queues
In a latest development, the Thailand Embassy in India has advised Indians to get their visas from the consulate or embassy to avoid long queues. As Thailand has now opened its borders for tourism, there is an evident increase in the number of visitors at the Bangkok airport, thereby leading to long passenger queues.
If reports are to go by, the reason for the long queues is to get immigration clearance, and the number of people taking on-arrival visas is also high.
