FIFA confirms no alcohol to be sold at Qatar World Cup stadiums
Just two days before the World Cup kicks off in Qatar, soccer’s world governing body FIFA confirmed that no alcohol will be sold at the eight stadiums which will host the tournament’s 64 matches.
In September, Qatar had said it would permit ticketed fans to buy alcoholic beer at World Cup soccer matches starting three hours before kickoff and for one hour after the final whistle, but not during the match. Budweiser was set to sell beer within the ticketed perimeter surrounding each of the eight stadiums before and after each game. Fans will not be the only ones disappointed with the eleventh-hour U-turn.
Abu Dhabi COVID travel update: Visitors no longer require Green Pass to visit public places
As per the latest development, visitors are no longer required to register their vaccination status before arrival, and will also no longer need Green Pass status on the Al Hosn app to access Abu Dhabi’s attractions and experiences in the form of malls, hotels, restaurants and theme parks.
Apart from this, mask-wearing was also made optional as the country progressed in lifting COVID-19 restrictions. Also, apart from the visitors, residents are now no longer required to do a monthly PCR test to maintain the green colour on Al Hosn app.
