Tim Hortons Is Opening Its First Outlet In India

Tim Hortons Inc., the largest quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain in Canada, will enter the Indian market with its first outlet in Delhi-NCR, before expanding its store count to 250 over the next five years, said a top company executive. In India it will compete with Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, offering a combination of coffee and foods. The first store is expected to open in June-July in Delhi. After Delhi, it will open outlets in Punjab and take the count to 120 in the next three years. India is the brand’s fourth country in the Asia Pacific.

‘World’s Best Restaurant’ Noma Is Heading to NYC — Here’s How to Snag a Reservation

In April, Noma, the Copenhagen-based restaurant that currently sits atop the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, announced its plans to open up shop in New York City. However, fans of the restaurant will have to work extra hard to snag reservations, as it will only be in town from May 16-20. The experience will be open exclusively to American Express cardholders enrolled in its Global Dining Access program.
For the event, owner and chef René Redzepi is taking over the venue at 26 Bridge Street, a former metal factory in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood. However, the space will be unrecognizable to locals. According to The Points Guy, the spot will be made over to resemble Noma’s home location in Copenhagen and will include plenty of greenery and minimal Scandinavian style to give it a little more added flair.

Delhi: Fine dining on train that’s going nowhere

Beautiful indoors, great food to be enjoyed with family and friends, and the quaint charm of a train dining car — New Delhi Railway Station is soon going to boast of the capital’s first “Rail Coach Restaurant” that you won’t need a railway ticket to enter.
Northern Railway is going to introduce the restaurant in the circulating area of New Delhi Railway Station on the Ajmeri Gate side.
An old coach would be converted into a state-of-the-art restaurant expected to offer the best in fine dining. The restaurant would accommodate up to 50 diners at a time, sources said. However, there would also be separate food stalls on both sides of the coach for which separate sheds might be provided. There would also be a takeaway counter for people to buy food, snacks and beverages.
