Star Trek Wines has announced the latest additions to its wine fleet. The first new bottle in the wine range, inspired by the sci-fi Star Trek television and film franchise, is the Klingon Bloodwine 2018. Packaged in a wax-dipped bottle, it is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and produced by the E2 Family Winery in Lodi, California. Priced at US$50 a bottle, the wine is available to pre-order in the US for shipping on 17 September, the Klingon ‘Day of Honour’.
The second addition to the line-up is the United Federation of Planets Sauvignon Blanc, a limited-edition bottling designed to accompany the United Federation of Planets Old Vine Zinfandel, which was released last year.
Packaged in numbered bottles, the wine is made from north coast Californian Sauvignon Blanc grapes in a bottle that draws design cues from uniforms worn in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and is priced at US$40 a bottle.
The range is exclusively available via startrekwines.com and was created by US lifestyle company Wines That Rock in collaboration with ViacomCBS Consumer Products. The wines are made by the E2 Family Winery as well as Château Picard in St-Estèphe.
