The southern states have perfected classics like fruit pies and custards. One such unique pie is the sweet potato pie often served during the American holiday season, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas in place of pumpkin pie, which is more traditional in other regions of the United States. Prep + Cooking Time: 1.5 to 2 hours
Ingredients of Sweet Potato Pie (For 6 Foodies)
Sweet potato – 500 g
Butter – 125 g
Caster sugar – 200 g
Milk – 120 ml
2 eggs
Ground nutmeg – 1/2 tsp
Ground cinnamon – 1/2 tsp
Pie Tin (approximately 9inch) – You can buy it here
Method of Sweet Potato Pie (For 6 Foodies)
1. Boil sweet potato with the skin until soft.
2. Cool it down and scoop out the potato
3. Preheat oven
4. Mix the potato with the butter until it turns into a smooth mash. Next add sugar, milk, eggs, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
5. Pour this into your pie tin and place it in the oven for about 1 hour.
If you are feeling really indulgent then finish it off with some whipped cream.
