In the 1996 American Rom-Com film, Jerry Maguire, for their first date, Jerry (played by Tom Cruise) and Dorothy (played by Renee Zellweger) head to Del Rey staple Paco’s Tacos where the two enjoy a romantic meal of Mexican fare. The restaurant’s decor has remained almost unchanged since filming took place twenty-four years ago. Even the brightly-colored fish tank that Tom and Renee sat next to still looks the same as it did onscreen. The menu here has all the typical Mexican fare: enchiladas—cheese or chicken, tacos, chile Rellenos, and burritos to name a few. Surprisingly you will also find a wide selection of seafood on the menu. Though any entree, be it seafood, steak or tacos is delicious at Paco’s, they are all served with rice and beans on the side. Well in case you are avoiding carbs, they let you substitute the rice and beans for a salad of your choice.
